Structural Detailer

Due to continued Growth – We have an exciting opportunity for a Structural Detailer to join Had Fab’s Design & Detailing team. The successful candidate will work alongside our team of Structural Engineers and Detailers to develop 3D Models, General Arrangement Drawings, Manufacturing Drawings and CAM files which are compliant to client specification and industry standards.

Had Fab is a leading player in design, detailing, fabrication, and installation in the structural steel sector covering multiple industries including power transmission, rail, construction, and renewables.  We are a fast-paced progressive, growing company and we are looking for ambitious, dynamic, self-starters who are capable of learning quickly and keen to develop their skills.  This is a fantastic opportunity for candidates who are looking to join a growing organisation and gain commercial experience dealing with all departmental managers.

Key activities will include:

  • Interpreting client engineering and architectural drawings and specifications
  • Utilising Tekla Structures to create 3D models of structural assemblies, such as, substation support structures, access platforms, stairs, and gantries
  • Preparing General Arrangement drawings for client approval
  • Creating assembly and part drawings directly for manufacture within Had-Fab’s capabilities
  • Providing material and bolt lists for estimating and project buying
  • Conducting site visits/surveys when required
  • Importing CAM/BIM information into Strumis ERP software and performing material nesting, workshop work orders
  • Submitting TQs and maintaining project TQ registers
  • Checking others work, providing feedback and continuously improving the quality of deliverables

Qualifications required:

  • Minimum of two years’ experience using Tekla Structures software
  • Minimum of two years’ experience using AutoCAD

This is a permanent position for the right candidate.

Hours are:  Mon-Fri 8.00am to 17.00pm. This role can be either work from home or office, but office visits will be expected occasionally for team and client meetings.
