Our in-house engineering team have expert knowledge in the design and detailing of steel, aluminium, GRP and hybrid structures, assemblies and components; to the latest codes and industry standards, directly for manufacture in line with BS EN 1090.
We deliver complex designs and detailed drawing packages for primary and secondary fabrications, including substation structures, line landing gantries, access platforms, transmission towers and access stairs/ ladders. Our design, manufacturing and installation teams work closely together, to ensure that we always deliver the optimum overall solutions for our clients.
We deliver personal client services, to facilitate a straight-forward design and delivery process. After delivery, we remain available to ensure that all requirements have been met.
The team is widely experienced in delivering bespoke steel and aluminium solutions.
Design is undertaken utilising structural engineering software (QSE/ SCIA Engineer), allowing designs to be tested in line with relevant Eurocode loading conditions. All designs are supplied with General Arrangement (GA) and erection drawings, full design documentation outlining structural calculations, reaction loadings and design check results.
A fully detailed 3D model of each structure is produced in-house using TEKLA Structures, allowing any potential design issues or clashes to be identified and rectified before fabrication. From these models, full manufacturing drawing packs and material lists are generated, together with DSTV and NC files, providing CAM data for our CNC machines, ensuring continuity and integrity of data throughout the process.
Our 10-strong design and detailing team are qualified to degree level across Mechanical and Structural Engineering disciplines. They utilise state of the art engineering software, including: Tekla Structures, SCIA Engineer, IDEA StatiCa, Autodesk Product Design and Manufacturing Suite, AutoCAD and Profis Hilti Anchor Designer.
In addition to ISO9001/ ISO 14001, we meet specific design standards as required by our customers. These include: Eurocode 3 for steel, Eurocode 9 for aluminium and British Standards for towers and access to machinery. We work to National Grid Standards for substations and towers, and Network Rail Standards for all trackside steelwork.
