Had Fab Supports Flagship Edinburgh Tram Project with Turnkey Delivery of Overhead Line Poles

Had Fab is delighted to announce that this month saw the first paying customers on the Edinburgh Tram Project, a scheme which saw us deliver a complete turnkey offering from the procurement, fabrication, painting and delivery of 144 overhead line poles.

The project – which has been under construction since November 2019 and which has been funded by the Scottish Government – has seen trams returning to Leith Walk for the first time since 1956.

The £207m extension now has trams running from Picardy Place to Newhaven comprising eight stops. Until now, trams were only operating between Edinburgh Airport and York Place.

Had Fab is very proud to have been instrumental in the successful delivery of this high profile project, delivering all 144 overhead line poles on time and within budget and which very much reaffirms our position as a market leading fabricator to the rail industry.

A time-lapse showing the 2.9-mile route extension to Edinburgh’s tram system can be found on this video link.
